Transparent and simple fees.

Transparency is fundamental to Just Advising. I believe what you get and what you pay should be very straightforward.

Traditional financial advising firms are packed with high costs, commissions, and/or hidden fees. At Just Advising, I want to break down those conflicts of interest. To be fair, my model doesn’t eliminate conflicts of interest since you are still paying me for a service, but I believe this is a step in the right direction.

How much will you pay?

Fixed-Fee (The Expedition) Option:

  • Individuals with no children: $1,800

  • Individuals with one or more children: $2,400

  • Married and non-married couples with no children: $3,000

  • Married and non-married couples with one or more children: $3,600

If you agree to engage in my fixed-fee service, $500 will be collected up front. This is to cover my expenses. The rest will be required upon completion of my services.

Hourly-Fee (The Waypoint) Option:

$150 per hour

If you agree to engage in my hourly-fee service, the full payment will be required upon completion of my services. No payment is required in advance.

Why do children increase the fixed-fee cost?

If you have a child, they bring very specific planning needs to your financial picture. Below is a short list of possible planning needs.

College funding | Special needs planning | Tax credits| Life insurance needs | Estate plan adjustments | Cash flow changes

How did I decide on my fixed-fee?

To try and make my fee more affordable for you, I started with you in mind.

I work with young adults and family starters, I looked up the median salary for this demographic in the U.S. This gave me a salary range of roughly $57,000 - $77,000. To keep this affordable and bear in mind variances, taxes, etc., I used $60,000 as my benchmark. From that, I used 3% of that salary benchmark as my fee for an individual. $60,000 x 3% = $1,800

For a couple, I simply multiplied it by 1.66. The additional person now only raises the cost by 66% instead of doubling it. And to add a child, it will be a flat additional charge of $600.

Because this fee may still be unaffordable to some, I offer a payment schedule of up to 12 months.

How did I decide on my hourly-fee?

Again, I started with you in mind.

With my fixed fee option, I expect the total time spent on a comprehensive plan to range between 10 and 25 hours. Given the different costs for each fixed-fee status, an average hourly rate equals out to about $150.
